Poll for writers: Have you ever thought.....?!
Question: when someone gave you constructive critisism on whatever you were writing (poem,novel, short story) that they were just jelous, and wanted you to fail so they gave you some bad advice? And he or she was the only one who saw those errors, while others only saw a one or two things and he or she never even mentioned it.

There is a huge difference between 'constructive' criticism and criticism for the sake of same.
Constructive always identifies strengths and weaknesses, with suggestions for improvement. 'Jealous' criticism focuses solely on the negative.
Once you learn to tell the difference, you need to develop a thick skin to dismiss the negative and embrace the constructive. After all, we learn from our mistakes.
And any criticism is always subjective anyway. Look at J.K. Rowling, how many people turned her down before she found a publisher. The first billionaire author..
Im not officially a writer, but i do so in my spare time. and i am my own worst critic, so nothing anyone has every said about my writing has been something i have not already thought of.

It was my best friend...and she admitted it later. And I wasn't mad...but then she said she hated me. I was like '*flail* WAAA!!'
I have had alot of that.
But I personally don't think its because they are jealous. I think it is because they know what they are talking about and the others are just being nice.
I use to write some funny short-tales, and I get mad when someone clearly criticises me for envy, just because the one isn't capable to write a single sentence.
I feel miserable.
