Homosexual terms?!
Question: I'm in the middle of a fairly heated online debate, and I just wanted to get your opinions on it..
In your mind, what gender do the following terms mainly refer to, or do they refer to both?
Gay
Queer
Lesbian
Dyke (Dike? Whichever)
Fag
Homo
Throw in any others you can think of...
I'll give my opinion when I choose a best answer.
Thanks in advance!!

[PS- This is not meant to offend anyone. I am a huge supporter of gay rights and same sex couples. This is just a discussion of which terms refer to what. Obviously there will be some exceptions. But under no circumstances is this to be a flaming against homosexuals, because if it becomes so, all violators will be reported. You have been warned.]

gay - men or women nowadays
queer - gay, so both
lesbian - well, pretty self explanatory - not men
Dyke - women into women, who have a masculine aspect
fag - derogatory for gay male
homo - derogatory for gay
I'm a fag hag - so it's acceptable for gays to use these terms with each other, like some racial terms are only acceptable when used by those of the same group.
Why would this be important?
the first two could go either way the third lol thats a women the fourth is a term for females the last two I think are male
Gay - both
Queer - man
Lesbian - woman
Dyke (Dike? Whichever) - woman
Fag - man
Homo - both
I am only guessing.
Carpet Muncher and Fudge Packer are also used. Most of these terms are directed towards homosexual men, except dyke, lesbo, and Carpet Muncher which is directed towards homosexual women. I am not trying to offend anyone, just adding two words to the list and stating an opinion.
I have heard many of those terms go both ways - except for lesbian and dyke. Those are the sole province of homosexual women.
Truckers call (mainly male) homosexuals "good buddies", which is why one should never address a driver as such on the CB.
Gay- Usually meaning males but can mean both.
Queer- As above.
Lesbian- A female who prefers other females. Sexually.
Dyke -See lesbian.
Fag- I usually think of a gay male. It could mean both but usually used derrogatorivley at gay males.
Homo- See fag.
Gay - I would say mostly guys
Queer - mostly guys
Lesbian - definitely girls
Dyke (Dike? Whichever) - girls
Fag - guys
Homo - guys
