Should this have been violated?!
Question: I asked the question, "did you know this was out there about yahoo answers" and then supplied a link from wikipedia which discusses yahoo answers.
I got a violation notice for it saying it was not a question or an answer. How much more of a question could that have been? I thought it was a great article about yahoo answers, it was not a negative article about yahoo answers and was asking others if they knew it was out there?
This is just one example of why yahoo answers is losing it's credibility. That was a question I posed in good faith. If you look up yahoo answers in wikipedid it is on there and I had never seen it. It has some great information in it about yahoo answers and I wanted to know if others were aware it was there. It was a sincere question.
This kind of "violating" really impaires people on this board from playing an active role without feeling as though something is not right with the guidelines customer care staff use who monitor the questions

I agree that the reporting system has some problems. Many people have had questions removed that were fine. And I agree that it's frustrating.
You did post your question in the form of a question, that's true. But it reads more like a sincere attempt to let others know about the wiki site than actually being a question so I can see why they might have felt it was in violation. Compared to some of the questions that get asked on here ("Ladies: What's your cup size?" for example) I don't see why it would have bothered them. Some people on this site take their choice to report much too seriously.

I don't believe anyone from YA is monitoring unless you appeal. All it takes is for two people to report you for a VN. It's probably not hard to find two people who want to knock you down some pts. I really wish everyone could just get into the spirit of fun. I keep asking why is P&S under entertainment if they don't want to be entertained.

I find it to be hit and miss with Y/A. My first question ever got deleated for the same reason and I still don't get why. It was titled "How many of you are as sick of the Oscars as I am?" I mean its a question and its a poll taking. Somebody here once told me that it could be trolls that report things. I am not sure how well Yahoo looks into these "reports" All I know is that if it gets more than 1 person reporting, then it does get taken off but you do have the right to appeal.
I just find it annoying. I'll probably get a violation for this too

It happens to the best of us. I have found that alot of people don't like it when you supply information links from somewhere else. I know is is strange with all the picture links and YouTube links we see. I have appealed several violations, but after a week or so, Yahoo just sends a standard form saying you were denied. Sorry.
I got my question deleted once cause they thought i meant something else, i wrote back and explained and they apologized and gave me my question back, so maybe try that.
All it takes is a spiteful troll to report u regardles of the content and ur violated. Protest ur violation, u could be lucky
