Should there be an IQ test in order to participate in Yahoo Answers?!
Question: We very-highly believe there should be.
We noticed that there is an age limit but we find that to be quite perplexing. One's age does not necessarily refelect one's intelligence as is evidenced by many, many of the answers we have read.

The problem is that IQ tests are now very unreliable...Example? My friend took for his job (voluntary) and he studied how to do the problems and he got somewhere around 150. Now he's my friend, he's awesome...a genious he is not.
I think that occasionally the Yahoo! Answers people should put test questions, and if anyone answers with something like "zomfg i can has ur moneyz now?" they should be banned, their IP should be tracked, and the feds should run over their computer...and also their hands.

I tend to agree with you, but alas, no such test is available for answers. Apparently the windowlickers have the same rights as everyone else. Such is life.

sometimes i think there should be. as for the age thing i have seen replies from kids around 11-12 yrs. to young in my opinion.
not really cause you can't outcast people just for that but maybe if people were smarter it would be better here but no there shouldn't be
yes I think that is a great Idea, but what if people have a lot of knowledge but not anything that they asked
Perhaps in theory if sounds good, but can you envision the litigation possible when some people are banned for low IQ scores. Only the lawyers would win.

There should be a skill-testing question at least - as in order of operations - that way we know you are not a total dumbo!

Most definitely there should be. People leave rude and stupid answers all the time, and I wonder are they serious, are they being sarcastic for their own selfish pleasures or is it a lazy excuse for 2 little points. It's so annoying!

Yeah, I'm sick of those stupid answers by people with stupid, slu*y names like SeXI*<3BAaBiE!? Okay, Yahoo Answers is not a dating site. I mean, we all have our obsessions, but we don't care if you wear a size zero of "I may be pregnant!" If you are, Great! announce it, but if you are a 15 year old who just got pregnant, eww, don't advertise it.
Then again, I personally am sick of those smart-nosed people who report everyone for everything. Yeah, there are things posted that shouldn't be, and those things should be reported, but not everything!
