Question: It isn't in my bulkmail folder, it's in my regular e-mail folder and it says it's from "Yahoo! Inc."
Should I open this or should I consider it a possible source of infection for my computer?

Don't even bother opening it.
Just click DELETE! :)
It's safe to open, but it's a scam and should be reported to Yahoo then deleted

Be suspisious be very suspicisious, I doubt that real yahoo notification would be in caps. I smell bad things afoot.
