I am now convinced after watching my almost 2 yr old son standing in the middle of the living room let a fart go so loud it startled me, looked behind him, looked at me with a sly grin, giggled and clapped like he just did something fabulous.
No, I did not clap for him I told him he was rude then went into the kitchen and cracked up! So if you concur raise your hands fellas?

What evolutionary purpose could an audible expulsion of waste gas serve, other than as entertainment. Chimps and some monkey species' share the enjoyment of farting with us humans - just as they enjoy masturbation, pinching stuff and running away and sticking their tongues out as a gesture of defiance.
Ergo, it's natural. It's just the boring people who think it's something to hide.

Farts are funny simple as that . I think men just have a better sense of humour .
