to be honest/to be honest with you/to be perfectly honest

ballpark figure

"the fact of the matter is"

I work in a law office. I hear it everyday, a million times a day.

between a rock and a hard place

think outside the box

"to be honest with you"
like, what, is everything else you're saying to me a lie?

literally, people keep using it incorrectly!

Touch base, especially when someone says touch bases

ballpark figure, boggles the mind, it's not rocket science, he fact of the matter is, and glass half full (or half empty)

those are the worst and piss me off greatly. Another one- PET PEEVE. I HATE THAT!

between a rock and a hard place
glass half full (or half empty)
it's not rocket science
literally
to be honest/to be honest with you/to be perfectly honest

thinking outside the box

it's very annoying and everytime i hear it, i think of my teachers....

Between a rock and a hard place...but you forgot one! A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush. Another one is (and if I hear it one more time, SOMEONE is getting hit!) "whatever."

Ballpark figure, blue sky thinking, I hear what you're saying, move the goal posts, pushing the envelope, singing from the same hymn sheet, thinking outside the box, to be honest with you, touch base.

i actually hate the saying
"I don't mean to be rude but....."
fact is they always are rude

Awesome - it sounds so American.

move the goalposts...anything about football is annoying when u have an arsenal obsessed boyfriend lol

"They did a complete 360"

Instead of saying 180

basically, to be honest, i am weary of "think outside the box".
and my favorite is = irregardless (so commonly used in error that is almost accepted as the "real deal".)

These are my most annoying not on your list

In real terms
On a level playing field
absolutely free
I turned round to her/ him and said

there are others but can't think of them now.

To answer your question - basically annoys the hell out of me

It's not rocket science
AND
Think outside the box

I'm a styudent and when a teacher says either of those sayings to me I feel as if I am being undermined, undervalued and insulted.

omg i cant choose between "basically" and "its not rocket science"

To be honest......

im not being funny but....

....what about "Blazing Saddles" the movie.......

....."We'll head em off at the pass!"

Know what I'm sayin?
