well, it really depends on what kind of thing the couple likes, and wether or not they are relatives or friends, however, the usual kind of gift would be a household item, such as a toaster, dinner set, towels, or other things they can use in their new home.
Money or cheque, then the couple can get what they like, that way they won't end up with something they don't realy want.
i always buy off their registry. if they aren't registered, buy a set of corelle dishes or stoneware. if you're on a limited budget, go to target and buy little things that add up. (slotted spoon, spatula, can opener, whisk, laundry basket, small trash containers, etc)
if they drink, get barware glasses.
We gave as a gift, a plastic dish, bucket, pegs. dusters, washing line, brush pan and brush, sweeping brush etc
Good question! I'm trying to figure that out now! I'm torn between adding to their honeymoon fund or something they will use and say Penny gave us this..... hmmm
