Question: Nora,good question !!!......... I sat for several minutes analyzing this, I could not decide between the two...... I like both, in different ways, and for different reasons................Purple Rain, OMG!!! I'm an 80's Freak, I love Prince!!! It reminds me of a special time in my life!..........................The COLOR PURPLE, awesome movie, Great actors, script, wardrobe, and I could relate to Woopie's character...........

The Color Purple. I love both movies but I love that one a little more.
Purple Rain.
The Color Purple -both are good films, but The Color Purple has a depth to it that Purple Rain doesn't.
Purple Rain only because Prince was the man back in his prime. The movie had no plot and the acting was terrible, but it is by far one of the greatest soundtracks of all time--totally my own opinion.
