Unfortunately, yes. I am still running XP SP1. Upgrading this 6 year old system to SP2 would be very....dicey. I'd most likely have to take down the entire system with a format/recover then apply the update (pray) and then reload everything including all my external devices and drivers. It's not worth it for a PC that may not last another year. An HP system lasting this long is a rare thing.
It is frustrating though as I cannot so much as upgrade my anti-virus or watch movies online with my Netflix nor update my java as they all require having SP2. More and more of my programs are saying they cannot be updated as my OS is no longer compatible.
And I'll have to have my next system custom built as I will not under any circumstance fight with Vista. I have three external HDs and a DVD burner that will most likely not work with Vista and that is a huge loss of $$$, work and files. I dread the day when XP is no longer supported at all in favor of the new Vista.
