What book did they make into a movie?!

Question: that you were terrified they would screw it up sooooo bad but didn't ?

Mine was the green mile. When I heard hanks was in it I thought it would end his career cause King movies havent done that well. BUT when I saw it I was amazed at how well they casted everyone into their parts and its still one of my favorite books into movies

whats yours ?

or if you dont have a fave, whats the worse book made into a worse movie ?

This doesn't quite apply to the question, but i hated the movie farenheit 451. But the book was AWESOME.

The movie was made in the retro era, so it was all cheap and shallow. The book was not.

The book was by ray bradburry, if you haven't read it already. (which you probably had but w/e haha)

When I read the first the part I instantly thought Green Mile!!

INK HEART...IT WAS GUD

I was worried when they made Harry Potter into a movie because the books are amazing.

I agree with you about the green mile but also The Notebook was a really good one

waiting to exhale

harry potter... I'm personally not a fan of that stuff

I was really hoping they didn't screw up Eragon. And of course, they did. Bad! I hated that movie.

I don't know of any others movies that I have liked, that we once a book.

thats a good question!!!!

Mitch Album's "The Five People you meet in Heaven" was really good. It would have been pretty easy to screw up, too, but they didn't.

I feel cheesy but I thought they did an okay job on The Chronicles Of Narnia... They did a good job on Lord of the Rings as well.

*pride and predjudice(the one with kiera knightly)-i LOVED it and actually liked the movie more than the book which almost never happens.
*jane eyre(the one with orsen wells)-a masterpiece and the acting and cinematography was great
*cyrano de bergerac(done by jose ferrar)-omg, if you have not seen this movie you have to, his acting is out of this world.

Oddly enough another Steven King short story called "the body" which was made into the movie "Stand by me". Just awesome and just like the book! Harry Potter was another, the movies are great and just keep getting better!

I can't think of a really good one off the top of my head, but a really BAD one...in my opinion..was Memoirs of a Geisha...
The book was AMAZING! and the movie was a totally different story..literally...

I really liked the green mile, but "Stardust" was a good one, Niel Gaiman is my favorite author hands down, and they messed with the story a little, ok, a lot but they stuck generally to the way it was written. - The book was better.

My favorite best (though totally different interpretation from written words to film) is "Bladerunner", Aka "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?"

Loser books are seldom made into film. But plenty of great books have been turned into loser movies. It's nice when they do a good book justice.

For bad books made into bad movies, I prefer to watch "Mystery Science Theater 3000."
