people usually make easter eggs, not buy them.

Wal-Mart had them on sale December 26.
When Easter is over. They go on sale then.
One day before Easter*
tomorrow they will be half price
I buy them 2 days after Easter when they are 70% off!
as soon as Christmas is over & the January sales...Eggs start appearing in the shops...so anytime after January!

Tesco had them from the day after Boxing day but people still left it till the day before and thought there would have a big choice.
Seems the second Christmas is over Cadburys Creme Eggs are on the Shelfs shortly followed by the Easter Eggs, won't be long till the Barbecue related stuff is on sale & then it's Christmas stuff again.
Interesting to see that some Supermarkets are now selling Easter Eggs without the packaging.
Not quite sure how chocolate Eggs tie in with the resurrection of Christ?
