Oh, right. It was called the Cold War. No weapons, no bloodshed, nothing. Well, except for the Cuban Missile Crisis, the Nuclear Arms Race, and everyone in America and the USSR holding their breath, wondering which country would attack first (or *if* someone would attack first).
Did the Cold War make our world better? No. It erected a wall splitting Berlin in half and splitting Germany in half by means of East Germany and West Germany.
War is war--with or without weapons. It is terrible, destructive, and, unfortunately, seems to be unavoidable.
