Am I the only one who dislikes cops?!

Question: Reason: in places like Houston with all the horrendous crime they only know how to write tickets. Where are they when you REALLY need them. Example A thug breaks in your house, rapes & murders you. Then a neighbor hears screams & only then do the cops show up to find your cold, dead body. Again I HOPE I am not alone. here. No rudeness. I can report too.

There are worse people to hate. I'm from NYC and the cops here don't have the greatest reputation but many are just doing their jobs.

TALK TO ME!

no i agree with you. im not too fond with them. at all.

no...........

I definitely smell a pork product of some type...

well I hate cops but crime doesn't bring in revenue. parking tickets do though!!

Millions of Americans hate the Five O. You're not alone at all.

There is more money in issuing tickets it seems. I do not dislike cops though.

Oh this list on AOL they said our state is the 15 safest and we still have stupid cops. I agree with you a hundred percent.

my brothers a cop, an he deals with more **** than u can imagine. gets paid **** for it, an then has to put up with people who hate him simply for being a cop. an the police force in NYC has dropped crime rates 60% in many areas.

Not trying to be rude. But you may be setting your expectations of the Police too high. The definition of Police is to clean up. And that s what they usually do, is clean up after a mess has been made.

no, i dislike them too. too many idiot cops around here.
"one whopper for the copper, coming up"

Some cops are crap I agree but the majority are ok. I'm an EMT and it's best to have them around when one of those "unfortunate" things really happen.

One more thought, some police officers recently went to my 9yr old daughters school to teach the children how to defend themselves against a possible abductor/strangers etc. Anyway, these "cops" spent 2hrs a day for a week with these kids showing them ways that (God forbid) could save their lives. Yeah, they write tickets but they do so much more also.

I think most people that live in big cities think this way. They seem like a waste of money. They're only there to clean up the mess and keep a record. I find that people who live in suburbs and rural areas often have a different view of cops.

I dont have any problems with the cops, but I do agree that they never seem to be in the right place at the right time, they do more crime cleanup than crime prevention

Need I remind you that to judge a group by the actions of a few is prejudicial? My brother is a cop and is as by-the-book as they get. He stumbled upon a stabbing while off duty and helped save the victim. Know what you are talking about before you make a judgement. Maybe some are bad, but not all.

I love how every conversation with a cop they launch into a lecture like everyone else is children.

i know what you mean
Example B: Cop goes into bad part of town. Its only him and he get caught in a firefight with multiple gang members. He calls for backup. Backup comes 10 minutes later to find his dead body.

They suffer as much as you do when stuff like this happens, so there is no reason to hate them. They are doing there job in making an attempt to "serve and protect". You cant hate someone who is at least TRYING to do there job.
Just putting that out there.

You answered you own question! You live in a high crime area, they can't be everywhere at the same time. Want more cops, support more state funding. I'm not trying to sound rude.

Do you really expect cops to be on every street corner waiting to hear a scream. Citizens are the ones responsible for calling. Maybe you should become a cop and you would realize there is much more to it than the average person believes. Do you put your life on the line everyday? Do you know how many cops lose their lives protecting people who say they hate cops. When you break the law deal with the consequences of it, even if it means getting a ticket. Do some research before you bash the people that are heroic for doing what they do.

I like honest ones and dislike crooked ones. Speaking of cops, they're doing a good job in my area. I live in a well-to-do bedroom community of Minneapolis/St.Paul. Twice in the past month when I went to my local Wal-Mart, I saw the cops arrest somebody. The first time, I saw two cop cars and an officer searching a guy's trunk. The suspect was frisked, cuffed, and hauled off. Last week, I saw four police cars at the same Wal-Mart. They hauled several people away and used a dog to sniff inside and around somebody's car. It was nerve wracking coming across a crime scene in the same parking lot in a month only 3 miles from home. However, it at least shows my local cops are getting the bad guys!

cops f**ck them!! they rape and lie thats what they do!

everybody i know says f***K the police!
