My Union filed a complaint with the wage and labor people?!
Question: My employer failed to pay us (about 150 - 170) people the correct wage for 22 days
Our wages should have gone up 01/01/08 and our checks did not reflect the new wage until the pay period of 01/22/08
Our union has filed a complaint (suit?) with the wage and labor people.
What will this do for us?
Will my job be fined and then we all split the money?
I'm NOT counting on some big lump of money
But what does all this mean?
My job under-paid some people 50 cents an hour for 22 days
They knowingly paid the wrong wage
So what all could happen???

The labor board will make them reimburse you with either a
separate check or in one of your paychecks as a lump sum.
They have to see how many hours they owe you for and check
if its straight time or overtime and then issue you either
a check or add it to your paycheck. Hopefully that wage increase date is written somewhere by the company or in your contract so that they can be proved that they owe you that
from 01/01/08. Good luck and don't spend it all in one day.
Talk to the shop steward.
You'll Get Your Back Pay eventually, probably in with one of your next checks....!!
You'll most likely get reimbursed for the lost pay increase. It might take a little while if a grievance needs to be filed, but you'll get your back-pay.
