Best Guitar For The Money(instant 10 points)?!

Question: If you have any knowledge about the Ibanez RG2EX1
http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/I...
and the Epiphone Les Paul Standard
http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/E...
please give me your opinion as to which one you would buy and why you would buy it. I've played both and am having trouble deciding which one to purchase. I like the Ibanez because it has a better metal sound but I like the Les Paul because it has more of a classical (beefy) tone. I play mostly metal but enjoy playing across all genres of music.
Only serious answers. Anyone posting ignorant responses to try to gain points will be reported for abuse.
Give me some help here as this will be my guitar for the next few years.

Ive always been a music enthusiast, although i have lazy ears and can hardly hear the diff between the two. However my friend Phil is a guitar nut who can play pretty much everything by ear. Going by what hes said id say the Ibanez up right, Ive played a few ibanezs and they are usally very easy to use, esthetically pleasing, and has a low lemon ratio. Although Les pauls have been coined the best guitar ever made, those are the Gibson's, my brother has an epi Les Paul and it didn't really strike me to be anything special and even then, even the gibsons are known to have a high lemon ratio. That said may i suggest spending a couple extra bucks and getting a better equipted RG with fret lockers (http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/I... for example ) its still much cheaper then the Les Paul, and its the real McCoy, all and all it depends on your style, but if your gonna do some serious shredding the RG will take all the abuse you want and still stay in tune, everyone has theyre own opinion, but Ive always had a little crush on the RG. unless you prefer a more muddy waters mellow sound, just read the reviews, they speak for themselves.
nice to see another MF user

slash

The Ibanez looks freaking sweet. Just a for knowledge I bought a Baja guitar off of ebay months ago for cheap and have no complaints

I think you would get better mileage from the Les Paul.
I have one. I actually have five guitars. 2 Fender strats
and one Les Paul. and others.
I honestly think the Epiphone Less Paul
Both good guitars

Epiphone....I have three of them.

I'm strictly an ibanez fan! I've owned three and never had a complaint!

HOW DO THEY FEEEL IN YOUR HANDS
they are both great guitars i like the ibanez because it feels better in my hands. the action is great and for me it just flows better. but thats just me the paul might feel better to you.
try them both playing the most difficult piece you know, that will tell you
