My ultimatum ended our relationship of ten years (best friends). But I don't regret it. It was a terrible thing to go through. I told her that she needs to choose to be my friend or flat out admit she likes lying and gossiping about me better. I demanded that she fess up and if she was sorry we would definetly move on and forget it. It's not that I didn't want her to be my friend any more but she was spreading terrible rumors and ruining my reputation. I had to. I would suggest it if you wanted to know who your friend/boyfriend/girlfriend is serious. If they're not then it can ruin it all. It sucks. I wouldn't suggest it if you really know that the person loves you, it will offend them.

Yes...I have. My demands were either stop going out and spend more time with me and the kids or its over. And yes it did work with a little bit of communication and compromise. I think it all depends on how much the other person wants to be with you and how deep your relationship is. If you love someone there isn't anything you wouldn't do for them as long as its in your power. If someone is not willing to change you cant make them they have to want it themselves.
