I agree pointless unless done the right way which most people are not doing.... "good example, www.google.com"
I like Google, but if google really wanted to make a difference, turn off the website and server completely then you would see something happen. People at home, turn off your fuse box.
Turning off a light, TV, or computer is helping very very little. Electricity is still flowing through the device. Some devices still use the electricity even when off, such as televisions, consoles, and computers.

I think it's a good idea, it makes up more aware of how much electricity we use, some of it unnecessarily,

GREAT idea, I'm doing it and so is my brother. He called and reminded me. I've got candles lit, and my laptop is unplugged. He's got his mp3 player going.

i had no idea about this. i don't know about doin' it, tho. i don't believe in global warming and this seems to have something 2 do w/ it. so i don't no.
I like the idea, but i think it's more beneficial if we did it more often and for longer periods. I question if most will become more aware of their consumption by participating in this for one hour per year.
