Cell phones are one of my pet peeves. It drives me crazy when people are driving and talking - it's so dangerous. But I also get really annoyed at how rude people are when it comes to cell phones. You can be having a conversation or even having a business meeting and people think it's okay to interrupt everything just because their cell phone rings. Also, people who walk around all the time with the blue tooth in their ear and start talking while standing right next to you and you think they're talking to you, or they're talking about very personal stuff in the middle of the grocery store where anyone who passes by can hear it. Just because you can carry a cell phone with you anywhere doesn't mean you should use it just anywhere. Be courteous to others. Turn your cell phone off or to vibrate when you're having a conversation or meeting and please save the personal stuff for when you're in private. If the call is an emergency, that's understandable but if it's just your girlfriend/boyfriend or whoever, it's not cool to cut off your face to face convo to chat about where you're going tonight or what's happening on "The Hills". And unless you're an on-call emergency physician or the president, I think you could safely remove your blue tooth from your ear while you're doing your grocery shopping. The world is not going to end if you unplug for a few minutes.
