I agree with you 100 %. Why doesn't Yahoo do something about the avatars, when they delete multitudes of questions and answers ?
I've seen curse words at the bottom of avatars that would never be allowed to be said in a question or answer format.
I'm glad other people are starting to recognize this problem. My kids play on the internet and I do NOT want them to see filth like that.

yeah i agree with you too, but some people on here have the avatars for the ego boosts. They don't get the attention in real life so they come on here for it and have a nasty provocative avatar for their profile. Then as soon as their parents enter the room they switch off their monitor.

You also have to remember that there are adults that come to this site for fun...and I have seen no avatar that could be deemed as " nasty "..sexual, yes..that is a given. But sexy or sexual does not = nasty.....

I find them to be a bit lude as well. I really don't see why people think it is neccessary to use those kinds of images as an avatar. Nearly all the time the image is not even theirs. I think that it is definately and ego thing, where they come to Y!A to seek the attention that they lack in real life.

Goodness, where are these avatars? I haven't seen even one such! As for children - hon, who do you think is putting up all the avatars? A nine-year-old can scan a pic out of her daddy's copy of Playboy and post it as an avatar. Or a copy of any other pic, like a drawing of Santa Claus or Satan...they do it just to irritate people like you. Don't take the bait and they'll quit!
yes, if yahoo wants this site for the kiddies as well as the adults then they do need to pay attention to some of the more "daring". There are other sites for folks wanting that kinda attention.
After thought, I came to realize they are no nastier than many commercials, shows or even cartoons. ~~Peace~~

i agree also i have just had a good debate on this exact problem,especially the old dirty men ones they are vile and should not be allowed on this site where youngsters are,some are just to bad.
Your question is interesting. However, Yahoo is not a babysitting site. In fact, I have 5 children...ranging in age from 16 yrs. down to 10 weeks. I have my parental controls on so that they can't access this site. I believe that if they have a question about something, the best place to ask, is to ask me, their mother. I have always enjoyed your answers. I try to be as polite on here as possible. My best friend Wandering there...she knows I'm an excellent mother who works very hard to keep "nasty" things from my children...but I don't expect Yahoo...an adult site, in my opinion only, to teach my kids right and wrong.
