The days of high school - Ever look back and feel like you missed out?!

Question: I'm a sophomore in college, but I have a younger brother who is a senior in high school. I've just seen all the pics he had taken from his senior prom and it makes me realize how pathetic my time in high school was.

I didn't have many friends (and I still don't), I had no girlfriends (I still don't), I didn't go to any of the football games, homecoming dances, etc. Nor did I go to either one of my proms (I couldn't find a date).

I know there's nothing I can do about it now, but I feel like I missed out on so much. As if there's a great part of my life that I didn't take advantage of, and now it's gone forever. While everyone else can cherish their memories and stay in touch with their old friends, I'm left by myself with only the memories of loneliness.

While I'm happy for my brother, it also sort of makes me feel sad to see him having such a wonderful time, making so many friends, because it reminds me that I don't have any of those kind of memories to hold for myself.

I'm sorry you feel that way and that's how you went through your high school days. I remember having a lot of fun during my high school years. Well, no use in dwelling on that since it's all in the past and you can't do anything about it. Why not do something about the present and how you would like things to be in the future? It's never too late to try and make friends and enjoy life.

No, I look back and I cringe. High school sucked for me.

nope, i'm junior in high school,

and its not all that, well unless you're popular.

but its such a drag. my time is lame too.

but you have your whole life ahead of you!!

and, i think being miserable in high school
is part of experiencing high school.

only two ways people experience it.

=:]

Whatever choices we made in the past, there's always gonna be regret, and hoping that we made that other move or said that other thing. There's nothing you can do about it now and the best thing you can do is make sure that the rest of your life won't be like your past

well.... i grew up in an upper income area, but we weren't in that bracket... so, i missed out on a lot just because we didn't have the money. but i had a hard work ethic instilled in me, which is much more valuable.

yes, I think I had missed out all the fun back then.,
but my classmates back from high school is still visiting me.,
so., not that sad., it is still ok.,

I went to an all-boys high school so yes I missed out

No...i think i enjoyed every bit of it...well in Indian schools we dont exactly have prom night but we do have farewell parties and stuff....i had the best times at high school...i met great friends had great teachers.....it was fun

hey whats done is done....now all youve gotta do is enjoy your life right now to the fullest coz you wont get this chance everytime...
