Is it me or does it semm like....?!

Question: don't read if u haven't seen"SWEENY TODD, I AM LEGEND, THE MIST, & CLOVERFIELD" cuz then it will ruin the ending

ok so the last few movies i have seen lately have a sad ending. is it me or does anyone else think this? for example: "THE MIST" horrible ending he kills his own son, "I AM LEGEND" i hate the ending the dog dies and so does he, " SWEENY TODD" he kills his own wife and then he dies and his daughter doesn't find out that was actually her dad, "CLOVERFIELD" what the hell doesn't explain anything what happens at the end it just stops.

Does anyone else notice this?

Yes, I have noticed. It seems like a strange chain. "The Mist" really upset me because I found out that the ending wasn't the same as the novella at all; "Legend" was disappointing, but was supposed to be one of those heroic endings. You know, risk your life to save humanity; "Sweeney Todd" I was kind of expecting something like that to happen, considering the mood of the entire film (plus I had the seen the stage version); and "Cloverfield" ended like that in order to provide something "realistic." The footage was documented after the Army found it, so we're supposed to be viewing the footage as it was taped. When it goes dark, that meant either the battery went dead or the tape ran out.

At least that's my interpretation on them.

it would be good just for once to have all the excitement without the tragic ending. I think they are out for shock value.

Yeah I noticed those. Funny isnt it?

The killing of the dog in I am legend was not at the end, it was in the middle, in the end will smith blows himself up which is a sad ending because it was just a movie--- wish it would happen in real life

yeah but i only watched i am legend not planning on watchin the other ones cuz i relly dont want to

I guess in the world of "reality" tv, even the movies want to be "realistic". Hey, even fortune cookies are having fortunes that aren't always on the happy, hopeful side. Quite frankly, I prefer a happy ending, realistic or not. I don't want to pay good money to feel sad. I can watch the news and get that way.
