Did you use to watch Home Improvement?!

Question: did you ever wonder why, they didn't show Wilson's face?

Answers: did you ever wonder why, they didn't show Wilson's face?

Yes and I still do.

Not sure how true this is but Wikipedia says: "Wilson's Face - Wilson was inspired in part by a neighbor that Tim Allen had when he was too young to to see over his neighbor's fence (and therefore unable to see his neighbor). As a result, the bottom half of Wilson's face was almost never seen on the show. Initially he was always seen with his mouth obscured by the fence; the gag quickly became covering the lower half of his face with other props, wardrobe, set pieces, or using unconventional camera angles. Occasionally, the top half of his face would be covered leaving only the bottom half visible, and rarely his entire face would be shown disguised by makeup for a costume. His face was fully shown following the series finale episode while taking his final bow."

yes & yes

yeah, it was just an inside joke

Every day. He wanted to be anonymous.

LOL yeah, and i love tim growl sound... thats the best ><

Yep, i still watch the reruns

yes and i never really thought about it. they did show his nose one time tho... lol =]

=]

Yes to both questions. I could never figure that out - it was very weird.

Part of his mystery. You know he died like a year or so ago. R.I.P

I used to love that show!! I always kind of wondered that too actually. It was amusing; if he would go to the tool shop he'd be convienantly behind a stack of tools so you could just see the top part of his face or whatever.

Even on the renuinion he had his little fence. I think on the reunion though they finally did show his face

the guy next door? yeah, sometimes. but then i fugured he was just some ugly guy. so who cares. lol..

Urh? Ha ha ha. Yeah...I liked the mystery with Wilson. That was a cool touch. ??? I saw someone dress up like him for Halloween years ago. They wore jean, flannel shirt, cap with earflaps & held a small fence in front of their face. Creative!

yes i have watched home improvement and yes i have wondered why did nit show wilson;s face

This is based upon Tim (Tim Taylor) Allen's recollection of not being able to see his own neighbor when he was a boy as he was too short to see over the fence. It added an air of mystery to his neighbor, which was felt to be appropiate for the Wilson character. So Wilson's face is always partly obscured. It also gives the cast and crew a challenge in finding a new and unusual way to hide Wilson's face each episode

Yes, i do..
yeah, surprising

Yes! I love that show! But Wilson... It was like, his thing. Like how some rock stars always wear glasses or whatever. It was just a little gig thing.

Although, on one episode, they slipped and didn't realize that you totally saw his face for about .4 seconds.

LOL...Yes I did, when I was younger, that show used to come out every evening....And a couple of year's back they were showing it once again.....It was a very funny show...lol...And yes,I did always wonder why the whole hiding thing of his face, why didn't they ever show it.....Maybe just to keep the viewers interested in the show,I guess...But at the end they did show it....: )
