"This call may be monitored or recorded for quality assurance"?!

Question: Does anyone really believe this?
I mean, if the Customer Service Rep is rude to you, what are you to do?

It is true. I used to work for a 30 day collections call center. ALL of our phone calls were recorded. The reason they do this is 1. so they can refer back to the conversation if needed, and 2. so the employees can listen to their calls and grade themselves and improve their communication skills. Each employees is given a grade on the quality of their calls. Unfotunately, there are rude representatives out there. If you have an issue with a rep. over the phone, you can have the supervisor go to their records and listen to the conversation.

Oh, it's for real alright....

everyone on the phone is rude these days and it seems to be excepted grrrrrr

Ask to speak to the call center supervisor, get their *** fired!

qeg342RWrgezterntg???:!

I certainly dont! I have ended up hanging up on so many of those people, they are SO rude!

they only monitor certain ones...my friend works at a call center and only every like 10 of her calls get taped

Most companies do have Quality control people, but for every 100 Customer service reps there is only 1 Quality control. The best idea is to record your on your own if you anticpate your conversation could go down a path of rudeness just record it and ask for a supervisor its your only ally Supervisors will always back their people unless proof otherwise is shown.

yes, alot of telemarketing places have quality assurance departments monitering their reps to make sure sales are legit and that they are following the scripts and saying the appropiate things.

They also record them for training. When new employees come in they listen to people on calls.

When you do make purchases over the phone, the telemarketer alot of the times will push record when they are closing the sale.

If they are rude, ask for the supervisor.

Ask for their supervisor. They do this at my work, and in the case a customer complains about the quality of service, the manager can pull up and listen to the actual call to see if it was the caller or the employee at fault.

in alot of cases customer service is outsourced . should someone become rude to you try to refrain from cussing them out and simply call the corporate offices of whatever company you are dealing with. The recordings are probably used to cover the rear-ends of the company that is providing customer service.

The 'may' means they can say it wasn't to keep them from being libel.

yes, everything is anyway.
