If there's "something to be said for monogamy"...?!

Question: ... what would YOU say about it? (sorry Watermelon!!)

I'd say that while I am VERY much happy in my choice of a life partner and that I want my daughter to do the same.

At the same time, I feel that monogamy, while well-intentioned and a safe way to live out your days, is kinda outdated. And the reason I say it's outdated is because 60 percent of married men and 40 percent of married women have had at least one affair in the life of a marriage.

And let's face it, a lot of folks got married because they felt it was the right thing to do at the time, and basically we let societal mores get us to that point.

it's in our genes to breed with as many female partners as possible.

but it's cheaper to stay monogamous than to pay divorce attorney's, alimony, and child support.

i think the fear of being caught keeps most people in check...or that percentage would be alot higher
