Do you think The Chronicles of Narnia is appropriate for 4th graders to read?!

Question: My class and I have a literature blog. We read a different book every month or so. I am thinking of moving to the Chronicles of Narnia for this month, with the movie coming out and all. Do you think it is appropriate to read? Check out our blog on literature if you get a chance... It does not sell or advertise anything.

I think Narnia is great for 4th grade! My daughter's 3rd grade teacher read The Hobbit to them and then suggested they read Narnia for themselves if they liked that genre. Since it's a series it makes great opportunities for the speedy readers to leap ahead and share "coming events" with the students still in the early books. They might even read in teams with each group taking one book and putting together a synopsis that doesn't give too much away to those who haven't read it, yet intrigues them to choose it. (Reading Rainbow used to have kids give reviews like that, I think.)

Yes, it's appropriate for 4th graders! I read them in 2nd grade, and I turned out perfectly normal. *twitch-twitch*

Yes I do

sure, I read them in second/third grades and my children as well
