Question: I just lost a contact, not a fan, can't figure out who it was and it's driving me crazy...but more importantly, I want to know HOW that could have happened if I didn't do it! It can't be that they were suspended, 'cause they usually still show up...can anyone solve this mystery?

I believe that if they remove you as a contact, you will only show up in their fans list. You can only have a contact if you both have added each other to each others list...You can remove contacts, not fans. No you do not get an e-mail about someone blocking you.
edit: I checked it out, and I have come to the conclusion that Yahoo just srewed you up. I was a bit wrong in the above. The only way to lose a contact is to delete them yourself.
You don't get an e-mail notice when they block you.
Your contact can remove him or herself. If someone blocks you, you do not get notified. The only way you will know if you are blocked is when you try to answer a question and it says you can't view it at this time.
Also, Yahoo has been screwing up with this. I lost a contact and he didn't know it for a week. Finally got him back.
Try emailing, if you can.
if they remove you, then you won't find them on your list anymore, same with blocking, you won't be able to see their questions and they won't be able to see yours.
Not to sure about that. I've had several disappear and I didn't do it. My one good contact emailed me and asked if he could be reconnected. As I didn't delete him and he didn't do it, it remains a mystery. And he's not the only one either. I found one that was a contact from the beginng and reconnected with him. Yahoo is just going bonkers lately I can tell you that much.
when they "clean" out their list to start over; I had a contact we will call "R" whose disappeared when removing

it's possible to remove YOURSELF as a contact from someone else's profile! yes...you need to block them, then immediately unblock...they'll have you removed from their list, try it w/ a friend...and no email notices when you get blocked, unfortunately...i really wish they notified...
Some do clean out there lists when having problems, usually they add again when all gets good.~~Peace~~
If a person changes their profile to where they are not accepting fans it removes their avatar from other users. I'm pretty sure that is how that works.
No, you will not get a notice that someone has blocked you. The only way you'll find out is if / when you go to answer one of their questions. It will say it is not available at this time.
That's been happening lately to me too.
btw: I've been blocked (shock!) and you don't get notification. You simply can't answer their qs or send them messages. *wink*
Mayhaps that contact won the Suspended Account of the Day award.
