I have before, why not do so...sometimes other people don't vote for it at all so they you wind up with 10pts for best answer and that 1pt for voting...nothing wrong there: )

i answered this really lame question that nobody could understand, i couldn't either. my answer was bugger or something like that, then i quickly voted on it! and got 10 points YAY!!

No. But some people do, and will even set up alternate accounts so they can give their answers multiple votes. It's very juvenile, and only cheats the cheater.

Is this the Y/A version of the "Moment of Truth" television show? Where it's d***** if you do and d***** if you don't? How much money will you offer me to tell the truth?
Seriously, though, I know that there are people who will do anything to pad their own statistics here, and if voting on one of your answers does it, then that's what they'll do. I don't think that there's anything wrong with it - it's just a very "hollow" victory for the person who does it, if you know what I mean.
Sort of like Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots. Will they go down in history as a "dynasty"? Have they made a lot of money and achieved great fame? Will people eventually forget "Spygate" and their "tainted" victories? Yes.
But by being dishonest and doing whatever it took to get an unfair advantage, in my opinion, that makes what they've accomplished less of an accomplishment than what it could have been had they been honest in what they did.
Same thing for Barry Bonds and his home run "record."
P.S. Yes, I do it, which is why I can speak from experience here.
