note: I never post questions; I only vote for best answers when they are up for a vote.
Here's my criteria for voting in order of importance:
1. Correct answer (of course correct may be relative depending on the question)
2. Detailed explanation
3. Provides examples
4. Style (word choice, good formatting, etc)
5. Use of appropriate humor
6. Spelling and grammar
7. Thumbs up rating.
Any answer that satisfies (1) & (2) will get a thumbs up from me.
Usually (1) - (4) is sufficient for me to choose a best answer

I usually go with the one that gives me that little bit of extra info - I don't look at points or level at all.
by answer! there's always one that seems to do it more than the others! but if the others are quite good, i note that in the comment and thank them.

if you are contented with the answer then i think you could rate it as "best answer"...

I make sure they answer the question and back it up its also helps If it's funny...10 points... easy as that..

The one who speaks with the most heart.
I look at content of answer. If there are two that are very good I pick the one with the most information and thought input. And if that is equal I look for the one that added a little humor as well.
i select purely by how good their answer is as well as if its personal...i hate googled answers cos i could do that myself.
I never look at Avatars, points or levels. I look at the answer that has given me the most information that I find useful, end of.
actually, I only care about the answer...if it's the best for me , I just choose it!

me personally i choose the one that helped me the most and that i can actually take an advise if at one point is 2 of them i give to the one that has leve B.A'S everyone deserves a chance.
I vote based on the answer that most closely resembles what I would have answered.

I select best answer by the order they are submitted, all things being equal or nearly equal.
I just put it to vote...if, and only if, i can't choose.
I do the same thing too, I wish we could give five points to and five points to the other.
That answer that most grabs me or that I wish to comment back on.

I choose based on INSIGHT.
I'll take a LESS ACCURATE answer over a more accurate answer, if the less accurate answer show me a different point of view.

I choose the answer i would have put in
if there is more than 1 best answer, i will give it to a contact. if the best answers were not from a contact, i will give it to the person with the fewest points.
