So should i become a vegetarian?!

Question: i love animals and i hate how the slaughter houses treat animals. yes i know how they make veal... and besides being a vegetarian is a healthier lifestyle.

my problem: okay well im hispanic, we are known to love meat, carnivores that we are. and my family thinks im insane and sick to think i should only eat vegetables. then theres my friends who also think theres something wrong with me. and refuse me not to eat meat. the purposely would invite me to go to a steak house to eat now. its annoying. and they say, we didn't get to the top of the food chain to eat vegetables. or that stupid bumper sticker saying: for every animal you don't eat, i'll eat three. urghh.

what i eat now: im not to much of a meat person, im not like someone that craves its taste, it's rare when i eat beef/meat.(cow) i don't eat pork cus im allergic to it ( which is apparently rare for a Hispanic) i really only eat chicken basically. i don't eat any other animals like veal, turkey, rabbit, or any other.

There is nothing wrong with being a vegetarian. There are many types of vegetarians that people don't realize. Which is why it is often looked over into a negative decision on one's behalf. It's the animal activists that cause the negative response to vegetarians. Not all vegetarians are animal activists. There are ones that don't eat red meat, but eat all other poultry items and veggies. Strict vegetarians do not use any dairy products or meat products in their meals. They are even strict on cooking oils by making sure it is not from an animal. Soy products and tofu replace dairy and meat products. Strict vegetarians also look out in labels of shampoo/make up for "Not tested on animals." The other vegetarian is they will eat fish/sea food, no meats of any kind, and will consume dairy products too. Vegetarian diets are more healthier, but you have to remember to replace what you are not getting for nutrients with your meals with vitamins. I would not worry about what your family and friends think about your decision. It's you that makes you happy and what you decide to do for your best interest. I've tried to be a vegetarian myself, but it's hard for me. I like my steaks. However, I went to this vegetarian resturaunt in Florida with my family, wow! Everything that you would think has to contain animal products doesn't. They can make lasagna vegetarian or anything you can think of, replaced with vegetarian style and you would never know the difference. As I have mentioned you are healthier with a vegetarian diet, but you have to decide which one is best for you. You can look it up online. Good luck and I hope that help.

If you don't enjoy meat you don't have to eat it, just make sure you continue to get the protein and iron your body needs to keep you healthy

Meat is good for you. Humans are supposed to eat meat. Humans have been raising/killing/eating animals for thousands of years.

Have you ever seen a lion take down a zebra? It ain't pretty, humane and I'm damn sure the zebra isn't enjoying it. Yes, it hurts to get killed, but, animals/humans need to eat and live.

Just live with it.

And if we weren't supposed to eat animals, then why were they made so tasty?

so if you wanna become a vegetarian , just avoid all meats.
its that simple.

My cousin went veg for a year, she was so energy deprived that as soon as she got home form school she would fall asleep, this caused her to fail like 4 classes. A couple montha ago she decided it would be good to eat meat again, so she did and she is very very healthy now. Meat is very good for you and is ment to be in your diet. My advise, dont become a vegetarian, you will probably regret it.

you can be a vegetarian just make sure to get protein in to your body cuz it neds it and vegetables cannot provide you with it.

You don't have to eat it meat if you don't wish to. But before you turn vegitarian, I highly recommend that you see a dr, some people need more nutrients than other, i.e. women. I gave up beef myself myself for 4 years but I became anemic. o just before you do the switch, check with your Dr

ive thought about becoming a vegetarian myself. but it would be soo hard to do it in a house of people that eat meat alot.

im the same with you i really only eat chicken. and beef.

iif you want to make this change then go ahead. dont worry about what other people think its your choice.

there are alot more healthier choices out there than you think for vegeterians, and it's actually kinda fun finding them
