BT, have the monopoly on the lines we all use..
Does anyone know of any other company in th UK who own their own lines?
I ask as almost ever single provider I have looked at states that a BT line is a must, or you cannot have the service..

Virgin media Use a kind of Fibreoptic line to provide all their services I think. And they install their own seperate phone lines.

Virgin Media are the only ones who I know of.

Because they have the money, the lobbyists and the connections to get it...just like the cablevision in my town...they have a contract that gives them sole ownership of all cable facilities in the city...and then they won't let anyone who doesn't take their cable see any of the local channels...even satellite connections cannot beam local channels in...absolutely nuts...
