depends on which date it is... if you're talking first date.. it's gotta be fun. can't be dinner and movies.. too uptight... gotta be somewhere outgoing and fun... i think it needs to be laid back, and even a day date would be better... it leaves the opportunity to be able to end it in the evening without expectations of having to go home with each other, but still the possibility is there if it is going really well on the other hand...
this is just me, but I'm thinking speedzone on 35, maybe hit up the bungee, or the giant swing across the street... .. if movies are involved bout 5, 10 miles down the road is the 3D theatre.. if it is going good, now we can have dinner, nowhere too fancy, somewhere fun and outgoing... dunno, maybe joes crab shack or something.... still going good after that it leaves the option for a couple of drinks after(even though i don't drink, i can still have a pop)... at somewhere fun like Pete's.... but i believe in always leaving options open... if either is not feeling it, after whatever we do, we are free to take off... no hard feelings, and made a great friend, just not a lover...

Wine tasting is fun but try a micro beer pup instead. they are a little more relaxed atmosphere and generally most guys are more into beer then wine. I did this once and my date loved it.. after we went for a nice lake front walk and talked for many hours. honestly it was one of my better dates.
Nice romantic dinner... maybe some pool... alcohol.
