Is it true that we usually despise our enemies because they have a part of ourse!

Question: that we can't dislike a person without relating them to us?

Answers: that we can't dislike a person without relating them to us?

I think it's true...often because that person is a reminder of what we hate about ourselves and personalities tend to clash.

yes - I believe so. you must be a psychology major... your questions are generally quite interesting.

We are green with envy or the grass is greener in the other side.

That part of us that we like least.

No. Why would people be prejudiced of those who are different from them, then? People are always going on that a lot of prejudice stems from people not being able to relate to or not having related to something or someone. That it is that unknown or difference which brings about that attitude.

While it might be as you state sometimes, it isn't always that way.

i think thats very true indeed. in that case we must all have people in our lives that we dislike through no fault of their own. mmmm.

In general probably. But there are several people that I do not particularly like, and a very select few that I actually hate, that we share absolutely nothing in common. But I can think of two or three that share common traits, albeit expressed in different forms.

Yes nice question Scotty beam me up we have some intelligence HERE!!!

As hate is a different call for "love me", so an enemy is a different call for "why not a friend?"

We can't feel someone as enemy if we can't relate them to us.
They relate to our dark sides, our fears and weaknesses and maybe this is why we really dislike them. We don't want to mirror in them our not so fine and friendly self.

That is part of the reason...we are always able to pick out faults in others more easily than we can pick them out in ourselves...
