My husbands gran was the sort of lady who loved to party. She was 90 years old and the party had been going for 45 mins. I was sat with her talking to her, I told her I loved her and she said I love you too, she said she felt dizzy, her head went right back and she died, right in the middle of a birthday party, she died how she liked to live at a party.
because they are tired!!

As the body gets older, it gets more tired. Older people generally need more sleep. And often young people's parties are not socially appealling to older people.
I am only 27 (not exactly ancient), but I wouldn't want to spend all night at a 17 year-olds party. I still like the music I grew up with over the music that most 17 year olds would listen to.
Older people need more sleep to let their bodies repair.
Also sometimes, they might be trying not to embarrass you.
But you do get some cool older groovers.
Please try to understand their needs.

Haha yeah they have to be home by 4 o clock, get curtains drawn, get settled and put their feet up with a nice cup of tea to watch countdown. If I ever end up like that you have permission to shoot me :P
they have less energy then the rest of the company they are with: atleast this is the message they give off anyway.
Because they get tired and perhaps want to let the young people get on with things.

It's because they get worn out faster then the rest of us.
Because they go home to their memories and peace,,
I suppose they have seen it all before and have had their fill of the **** food and they want to leave with dignity before they end up pissed and show their bloomers.
The elderly have routines and they don't really like them being disrupted.
Because they've had the bloody family and its members up their collective noses for longer than anyone else and just want to get away from the b'stards!
