this reminds me of gene hackman's line in runaway jury...
he was a go getter, against all odds type who go extra miles just to get what he wants at the extend sacrificing his dignity and humanity. and on one confrontation he has with dustin hoffman, he used that line. so on thant context i think i would dis agree, if you have nothing to lose, no matter where you battles will lead you, its all nothing but an empty shell since you never had anything to give in the first place.
