No I haven't but I went out for lunch with a friend and we spent ages chatting after the meal. When we were ready to leave we just got up and walked out and only when we got to the door did I ask my friend if we had paid! If we hadn't gone back to pay I'm pretty sure they wouldn't have noticed!

I went to a spanish restaurant once, with a small group. We didn't get all the dishes we ordered and when I told the manager we weren't going to pay, he lost it. Said that we had to pay anyway. Then we he made a scene. I said mate you're getting nothing now. I said track me down and sue me you idiot. Just as I said that the Patatas Bravas we ordered came out. Our group just walked out calmly. He said Senor here are your patatas bravas! All I can remember is him screaming, "Your Patatas Bravas!" as we left. What a freak!

I remember when I was just a youth, I took my girlfriend to a restaurant. We didn't have a lot of money, so we chose carefully from the menu according to our budget.
One of us was thirsty and ordered a glass of water. We didn't realise that they would bill us for this lol. The water was just enough to tip the balance so that we didn't have enough money to cover the bill.
As runners go it wasn't a classic as we left all the money we had on the table in a small heap of notes and coins and got away quickly before the waiter had a chance to count it. No tip obviously.
I always promised myself that if I ever saw him again (I still remember his face in my mind all these years later) that I would give him a ridiculously large tip to make amends. Sadly I haven't seen him since!

However, my friend an I were out on St Patricks Day this year. We took full advantage of happy hour price cocktails in soho and got slightly inebriated.
The last thing I remember is getting on the train to my boyfriends house. Me and my friend vaguely remember eating something in a restaurant - i think there was chicken involved... possibley some noodles also.
But neither of us has any recollection of paying!!
I'm pretty sure we did pay - there was a wierd transaction on my switch card - either that was for dinner or for a huge round of drinks for just the two of us!! hehehehe

Never done a runner but we were in one a few years ago, finished our meals and went to the bar intending to ask for the bill as it hadn't been brought to us, and the barman just said, thankyou, hope you enjoyed yr meals, see you again etc., obviously thinking we'd already paid him, so we went....I was waiting to be chased across the car park but it didn't happen lol.
