I'd notice and care. Mainly because it would mean no more people voting against education funding, and my money wouldn't be going towards paying for social security I'll never get.

Age- yes, some of the greatest people I know are physically old.
State of mind- They wouldn't disappear. My grandpa is still like a kid!

Yes, we would notice. You underestimate the wisdom and value of people that have been around longer - these people dream up your trellis coded modulation and your fancy little ADSL2 coding schemes - you cut them out, you set the human race back by a hundred or more years.
Old people are valuable, some get cranky and grumpy, but they often still have knowledge that a lot of us lack - some are downright crazy too though.

Well, all old people do end up disappearing off the face of the earth and I'm sure their loved ones notice and care. All old people were young once too. Do you hope that when you get to be old that you feel valued and not just tossed aside like yesterdays garbage? I think it's horrible the way we treat our elderly. It's hard enough going through all the trials and tribulations of years of life and then to get treated like second class citizens...it's horrible!
We would notice that there were a lot less automobile accidents!
No, really, (lol!) I think we would all miss the old wise ones, to some extent anyway. And of course those who have family members who are old!
