Why do some people ask, "What's the good word?"?!

Question: seems like mostly the elderly who ask that.

Answers: seems like mostly the elderly who ask that.

because they don't want to hear complaining, I'm guessing.

cause maybe they felt like it!!!

My mom does. It sucks.

You may be right. Here in Utah, they don't ask that. Apparently all the mormons here already know the good word, but instead ask if you've heard it. It gets annoying, so I'm putting up a gate.

It's a way of being friendly and saying hello.

they only wanna hear the good news
or they confidently assume whatever your going to tell them is good.

yeah i think it is more of an elderly saying...haha
i think they say it when they only want to hear something good
anyways i dont know i think its like saying...whats up or whats good?
