Prayers for me are statements of thanks for the things I already have received and not a laundry list of things I want to have happen or not happen. I find it silly to ask for things that I could or should try and achieve on my own. Perhaps i am missing something here but if everyone is praying for things they all want then why should one prevail over another. That is like picking best answer when all the answers are the same. It can't be easy. I say simply be grateful for what we have right now.

yea...sure did.....when my brother was in hospital....I new he was going to pass .....but boy did I pray and pray that he wouldn't leave us.....I even asked to take me instead...
For the things I want to happen, I simply hope, wish and act.
For the things I want not to happen, oh yes, I need support from above..... I do pray not to.

If I want something bad enough I try to make it happen all on my own.
...only a few things come to mind...one in particular involves my 87 yr father...he is not well and wishes to go to Heaven, I want him to be happy, but I will fall apart when he goes for he has always been one of my heroes
