try disconnecting you internet and restarting you computer
I just got it a few days ago and other than a problem with a window freezing, I'm not sure if that's the computer, it's fine. Runs fast. Maybe your phone line is having problems. In my area the kids used to climb up and mess with the neighborhood main box, have no idea why.
