Survey for Parents(mostly): What bothers you about some of today's cartoons?!

Question: Case and point: "Back at the Barnyard"....BULLS DO NOT HAVE UDDERS!!!!

Answers: Case and point: "Back at the Barnyard"....BULLS DO NOT HAVE UDDERS!!!!

I actually like the cartoons on television now. I think there's a much bigger selection of educational and age appropriate shows to choose from than when I was a child, and the innuendo is nothing compared to what we used to watch. Theres Noggin for toddlers and youngn's, and cartoon network for the older ones. Even though I find some of the shows annoying, theres not much really wrong with them (except the evil Teletubbies), in which case we find something else.

I think I need the er...quick. And a martini. (thanks dahlin, missed you too!) Report It

  • oh i noticed that its soo annoying, bulls are brown too not the white kind

fire can't burn under water (sponge bob)

Very violent they give out all the wrong messages

    ROFLMAO!!!!!!!

Lilo and Stitch ..... what's with that one with the one eye. I thought for sure it was male.
My little one thoroughly enjoys the *oldies*. Tom & Jerry, The Flinstones, Jetsons. Some of today's stuff is so outlandish.

When we went to see the original Barnyard movie that started the series, that is ALL my hubby could talk about! "Don't they know he shouldn't have udders!" On, and on, and on!

What bothers me is some of the sexual innuendo in the cartoons nowadays.

Dora the Explorer - attempting to teach our children Spanish so they can communicate with the illegal aliens in this country that refuse to learn the language yet wish to reap the benefits .

some of the hidden things that
the cartoons are trying to portray to your kids.
    that are completely inappropriate,
and shouldn't even be learned about
until the kids are in their teens.

Look right, nothing bothers me about cartoons. This is the only job I have, of which, I'm using to survive as a Martian. If I'm sacked, my whole life is ruined.

    He's a hermaphrodite, my dear.

how big is the backyardigan's yard anyways?

"how big is the backyardigan's yard anyways?"
haha im 14 and that **** is so dumb
    its like wtf
they go everywhere in that backyard

I dislike Bratz. All they try and promote is young girls almost as young as 3 dressing up in mini skirts, and putting a lot of make up on. Bratz is the new Barbie and if you see a Bratz they look like hookers you would find on the street. I wouldn't want my daughter or even my son to be influenced in any way. I don't want my daughter to think that's the girl she has to be to be beautiful and I do not want my son to think that's the girl he should have in his life. Bratz are all around not good for the young child who does not understand what they represent.

my grandson doesnt watch them yet, he still into sesame street

I only watch South Park and I'm a adult. I wouldn't let any of the grandchildren watch it for sure. I don't like all the violence in the cartoons. After the kids watch them they try to reenact that stuff. You should research how many times a child sees violence from watching television in a day, you would be shocked. I can remember watching Pepe La-pew the skunk chasing the females being a really stinking stalker.

I can't stand The Backyardigans!! I don't know why, they just ANNOY me! And what about Max & Ruby? Where the Hell are their parents? I have yet to see them! They're going to grow up pushing drugs & shootin up schools!

Oh yeah! And let me just add that I admit that I LOVE Drake & Josh, (they are VERY funny & talented kids), BUT what kind of message is Drake sending to young teens & younger kids when he is constantly kissing other girls ALL THE TIME?! I don't want MY daughter thinking that is the right way for a boy to behave!

Cartoons haven't changed all that much since I was a kid. I loved Popeye and today it would probably have to be on late at night because of all the violence. Face it, he never solved a problem without beating the crap out of someone. Talk about a bad message! I had my mom by a can of spinach and tried to eat it just like Popeye. His is nice and dry out of the can. It's amazing what a little greenery will add to projectile vomiting.

Like anything nowdays as parents and grandparents we have to monitor what the kids watch. We HAVE to, it's our responsibility to make sure they don't end up addicted to Answers like their parents.

How about sponge bo square pants ahhh Bikini island? That sounds a little sugestive to me how about you?

i hate them because the people on there are always trying to fall in love. little kids dont know what love is (Boyfriend girlfriendwise) and they shouldnt have to have the "when a man loves a woman" talk at like the age of 5.

    -"penguin"

ive been waiting for someone to ask this question. lol

you got a problem with transgendered bulls?
    lol

    Too much to go into....
    I like the classics....
    Peace.

I like most of the stuff that the kids like... and I do keep a very close eye on what they are watching. But some are a little too obviously... nice (For want of a better word....), like Toddworld. The world isn't that peachy, and teaching kids that everything should be fair, often isn't going to help them. Life isn't fair, accept it, move on.

I like my entertainment to be entertaining!
