It would tell me that they had a romantic soul, that they see life as a changing process and love as a time of rich full passion when a person's lips seem reddest because they are filled with passion for the person they now kiss. Passion wanes and in that thought so fades the color of one's love and the color of one's life as well. This is a seize the moment sentiment coupled with an almost vampiric flair for the romantic. It would not seem creepy but oddly familiar to my ear.
