I would say experience and the applied knowledge gained from experience!.
While experience is gained over time, merely passing through time does not make one experienced nor knowledgeable!.
Most of us do gain experience and knowledge, but at vastly different rates!. Those that can also apply that knowledge and pass it on to others become leaders and, eventually, "wise old men" (I put it in quotes because it is a cliche, there are wise old women too)!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
