Well when you look at the army and all military, who are their recruitment campaigns targeted at!? Young men right out of high school that have no other way to make something of their lives!. Many times the newly recruited soldiers are the young men who did not get into college and this is the best option for them!.

So why does the military target these young men!? It lowers crime rates in America!. You take these young men who might be out on the streets and could get into trouble because they have nothing better to do with their lives, you train them and stop just short of truly brainwashing them, and they become a powerful force for you!. And you get them off the streets!.

So what difference does it make if they take these same boys that ended up on the streets, got in trouble, and now they can pay their debt to society by serving their country!. It seems like a more productive thing to do with a human life than to let them rot and waste time in prison!. And the military is an effective way to turn their lives around!.

In any case, you are taking something that could be negative and making it into something very positive!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Con!.!.!.why the heck would I want a convicted criminal running around with a rifle!.!.!.!.!.!.not for it at all!Www@Enter-QA@Com

The armed forces are not getting enought recruitsWww@Enter-QA@Com

And they should be in the infantry, front lines!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

great idea!.it would give them purpose in life other than crimeWww@Enter-QA@Com

Sure, go ahead!. Just make sure they get sent to the front lines first!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

All you need is some shades and you'll look pretty cool!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Hmmm!.!.!.!.it's a very interesting subject!.

Some people will think that the army or navy will be able to straighten those "hard-hearted" crooks but others believe its against their human rights!. A lot of families who claim that their loved one has done nothing wrong will be upset that the goverment will try to do something that is against their loved one's will!. Yet again, this could be a nice alternative to capital punishment(even though I'm for it)!. I LOL at the question: Capital punishment or serve your country!?

I thought it was a good idea before but do you really want those murderers, child rapists, wife beaters, thieves, and what-not watching your back!? And do you really think the "good guys" will be able to tolerate being around those people, especially child molesters(they need to burn)!?

Yet they are taking up a lot of space in jail/prison and our money is going towards their well being(oh, hoo-ray)!. And another question is will the army/navy/marines be able to break them out of their "tough shell"!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

Well, the pro's is they like to kill ppl so let them!.the con's could be thay might kill the wrong ppl!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I think they should be able to just because so many people go in and out of prison because they cant find jobs because they are felons and get into more trouble trying to make a living!.!.!. alot of people dont want to join the military right now so you not let someone that is willing to do something Legal and take a job that many people may not want at this time (by the way i work in a prison)Www@Enter-QA@Com

Sure, let them enlist but they must remain in their own FELON GROUP!. No mixing in with good guys!. That is the only way I would go for this!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

depends on the felon!. Most need to go to the front lines!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

They did there time, If they didn't kill someone why not let them, everyone makes mistakes and everyone needs forgivenss!. if someone wants to fight for their country, who are we to tell them no!. My husband is considered a felon because he threw a cup of water and a drop of it hit a police officer, no I'm not joking!. Isn't that a little rediculous!? so all of you who say felons are just criminals need to open you mind more!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

With the over population in the jails they should be sent over to IraqWww@Enter-QA@Com

i agree with conconsus here!. my son just got sentenced to 2 yrs prison, for violating his probation!. his probation!!!! the judge took four days to decide his fate and now he'll have one strike against him!. his are minor violations compared to alot of other lost souls!. he made some errors of judgment with some friends, yet he was the only adult!. (just after his 18th b-day) so they charged him with everything!. the two minors got sent home to mommy!. he did everything he was supposed to do, then he got picked up w/ a cousin, held for two hours, let go, however he failed to report that to his p!.o!. and he was put on a list!. they did a sweep and picked him up!. if he had been given the opportunity to join the service, instead of jail, his life would have changed for the better!. granted i might have ended up losing a son, however that's a chance i took anyway with the type of life he was leading up to!. now i just hope and pray that he doesn't get complacent
about being in prison and that it's a piece of cake, or something like that, not being able to get a decent job, and straighten out his life!. it should be hard for the criminals, yet for the little boys who think they are men, they should be given the choice before it's too late!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
