What are some healthy ways to express anger?!


Question: What are some healthy ways to express anger!?
Answers:
OK, here is what I do!. I first apply the "Serenity Prayer" to what's causing my anger!. If I find that what's causing my anger is something I cannot control then I say a prayer and then I exercise!. I also have a huge old tree behind my house that I beat up with a wiffle bat!. Doesn't hurt the tree and I am usually exhausted in about 15 minutes or less, depending on the anger!.

If my anger is caused by something over which I have control then I say a prayer and ask for guidance on how to deal with it!. Most of the time I believe in confronting the issues head on and trying to get it out in the open as fast as possible!. For me, when I allow anger to "fester" it sets me up for some really bad acting out! Try very hard not to go there!

hld on!.!.this is going to take a while!.!.!.
First off, let me say that its NEVER ok to listen to loud, aggressive or angry music while you are angry!. Studies have shown that this makes a person more violent!.
Most of the time writing it down does it for me!. I'll go and write a "letter" to the person who's bugging the crap out of me, expressing everything that has made me angry, and then I'll tear it up!. Don't ask me why it works, it just does!. :)
Another thing for me, and h*** ya its nerdy, but writing a poem about it totally vents for me!.
Tell some one about it!. Preferably NOT the person who's pissing you off!. If you keep it all bottled up, it'll just get worse and worse and worse until one day you'll blow!. Those don't ever end up pretty!. Tell a family member or a trusted friend what's up, and maybe ask for advice on the issue!.
Exercise!. I mean, what are you going to do with all of this new-found energy!? If you don't get rid of it, someone's gonna get hurt!. Run and run and run until its all gone!. Shoot some hoops!. Hit a baseball against a wall!. Don't let it sit there!. Get rid of it!.
Never ever resort to ways that damage the person you are mad at!. For instance, some think its ok to draw a picture of the person, and then spear it several times with a pencil!. I know for a fact that this method only hurts you!. You have not really gotten rid of the anger, and you will only resent them more!. Never actually hurt the person, for reasons as the ones above!.
