People are Cruel or just Selfish?!

Question: People are Cruel or just Selfish!?
http://ap!.google!.com/article/ALeqM5ifySB!.!.!.

I respect others thoughts on whatever it is they have a opinion on!. Some things in life are just so wrong it boggles the mind (mine anyway) as to why it is considered acceptable!.

I consider horse racing a selfish method of entertainment in which people abuse animals for the sake of gambling!. If there were no money in it would people still race horses!? Probably!. I was told that horses love to run but don't you think they would rather run without a person on their back!? I'm not talking about basic riding but using them for entertainment!. It's just me so please don't take it personal!. I know some of you will and it's ok!.

Peaceful and Respectful answers are always appreciated!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Its a tough subject unfortunately!. I don't see it stopping anytime soon, horses or greyhounds, but there is a lot with the industry that is wrong!. You have to remember tho that these animals are very well taken care of!.!.!.they wouldn't be able to perform well otherwise!. With the case of this horse, it was just a fluke accident unfortunately!.!.!.and it happens in racing!. Awful, but true!. I've worked in and around the greyhound racing industry before, and I did experience seeing dogs fall and get badly injured, or having one in our kennel having to be put down due to an injury!. Its very hard!. Most of the animals do love to run from all the ones I have seen!. I own two retired greyhounds!. One still loves to run around our yard, then our other one will chase him!.
With the dog racing unfortunately yes, there are many kennels that only think of the dogs as a paycheck, cause I've seen it firsthand!. But there are others, like the one I worked for, that care for the dogs!. The owner of this particular kennel always tried to adopt out all his dogs that didn't run well or who were retiring!. And the trainer I worked with loves the dogs very much!.
Overall, I agree, its not a good industry and is cruel in many ways, but it is at least good to know that there are still some people out there who actually care for the dogs, and I'm sure the horses too!. I wish all of them were that lucky, but of course it's not that way!. :(
The good thing is there are many greyhound adoption agencies who try and get every retired greyhound they can into good homes!. They are the most wonderful dogs I've ever come in contact with, and I always, always want to own greyhounds in my home!. They are very beautiful, sweet, loving animals!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Horse racing in the U!.S!. is not a sport!. It's a scheme!. They race the horses too young, breaking them down more often than not and give a care only for what can be accomplished with them on the track or in the breeding arenas!. In Europe the horses are not run until they are in bone!. Older!. More solid!. And yes they like to run!. There is a happier medium, or compromise!. But we're not to the point of embracing it here yet!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Its cruel and selfish!. I cant stand the way they push the horses to keep going when they are tired just so they can win some stupid race!. I hate the way they are mistreated!. Horses should be free and running in the wild!. No, people wouldn't race horses unless there is money included which is selfish!. I think its wrong and im on your side so dont worryWww@Enter-QA@Com

soem people enjoy being cruel, others will be selfish even when it hurts others, hurts them cruelly!. i dunt thenk they want to hurt horses, but i thenk they want whut they want more, an enough to turn a blind eye to their actions, thats reallay sad, i well have to thenk about thes ?Www@Enter-QA@Com

I was actually going to post something about this but was too depressed about it!. I worked at a race track for 2 years right out of highschool!. The only reason I stayed longer than a month was because I felt if the horses had at least one person who actually cared about them there then it would make it worth staying!. It was so hard to leave and I still feel guilty for it but I couldn't save them all!. Not that their lives were entirely bad and I only had one that I worked with die on the track!. One of my favorites, Flash, a 2 year old chestnut, had a leg injury and got put down when he was only 3!. Such a lovely horse!.!.!.
I am against horse racing period now!. Yes a lot of the horses DO really love to race, you can tell!. But overall I do think it's cruel and people are selfish!. I often contemplate whether horses like to be ridden at all or just do it because humans break it into them but!.!.!. at least riding them in fields and rings for lessons and such is less abusive and more pleasurable to horses than being raced til their lungs almost burst!.
I don't know why racing is acceptable but it's obviously because the government makes some profit on it!. Humans don't care about animals, any kind, to give them rights!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Wow that is a sad story for the horse!. That is definitely a bit of cruelty and a chunk of selfishness!. The people are not fully thinking about what happens to the horse should a situation like this occur!. I don't think their mind travels as far a horse being hurt in any way in these races!. I never even knew a horse could be euthanized for having broken ankles!.

I find it hard to believe that the vet could not resort to putting the horse on "bed rest" for three months with casts around both ankles to simply help it survive, or even surgery!. I find that alone to be questionable!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
