linoleum on the floor, windows that were frosted up on the INSIDE,

smoke coming out of chimneys!. Men were old by the time they were 30, They used to walk about with big long coats on, smoking pipes and with "brylcreem" on their hair!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Fourth floor of a flat, no running water!.
Toilet shared by 12 people in back yard!.
Gas light, coke fires!.
Bath night, a small tin bath, water heated in saucepans, I was fifth in line being the youngest in seniority, the water now, not very appealling!.
This was the 1930s, so being the environment, at that time, it was accepted as the norm!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Walking everywhere, we didn't have a car til I was 14 but I was still expected to walk to school then work!.
Real cooking, no additives or junk food!.!.!.and this was only the 60's!
Freezing cold rooms as we had no central heating!. made us all much tougher!Www@Enter-QA@Com

to me, that's more rural or provincial than ancient!.

to me the olden days means men with goggles driving old cars like chitty chitty bang bang!.!.!.!.!.my nana in macclesfield had a outside loo when i was growing up and that was only in the late 70's/early 80's !!Www@Enter-QA@Com

Wooden stove to keep house heated!.
