With a praise and reward system!.
I also ask him to do things, I don't tell him!. It gives him a false sense that he actually has an option not to do what I ask him, but in reality, through training, he knows what will happen if he refuses!.

the same way you train any animal, reward & praise when they do something right or take away a privelidge if they do something wrong :P
