I think it depends on the kind of knife and the background of the carrier!. And I'm not an adult, so this is a good source!.
I wouldn't want some "bad kids" walking around with dangerous knives, but I definitely don't think that knives should be allowed at school!. That deserves punishment!. But if its a pocket knife that they carry around to places like the mall and all that, it should be OK!.
