My nosey 75 yr old neighbor stopped by for an unplanned visit yesterday!. She eyeballed my tomatoes (plants) and said; "Those will be great when they're ripe!. I love tomato sandwiches!."
Should I have pointed out where her property ends and mine begins!?

I always wait until I'm offered!. I rarely ask for things the exception being from my spouse!. Some people think that if they don't ask directly for what they covet and only hint at it that you should readily offer it!. In your shoes I'd borrow a guard dog about the time those red beauties ripen!. What irritates me most is that hinting around bs!. Just ask so I can say sorry I need them all for canning!.
I love tomatoes also but consider them a gift of nature and would never ask for those that someone else has put so much labor into as tomatoes are readily available at roadside stands for a modest price!. I even planted some for us in one of those deck container thingie that promises the most and the best tomatoes!. Yes I got sucked into another commercial again!.
EDIT: Qualifications on the above, if the neighbor was one who was helpful and pleasant of course I'd share my bounty but your
75 yr old neighbor doesn't sound like that type so she should have to help earn her tomato!. A little time outside helping with the weeding!? Although that may me too much to bear!.
